Open Arms MCC is proud to be a congregation serving people of all religious beliefs, backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions. From our origins serving gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, and gender non-conforming people, we have become an inclusive and affirming congregation that actively welcomes all people. We are a growing congregation. As we welcome new people, we grow stronger in our diversity.

We are called to build bridges that transform lives and transform our world. We are called to welcome others into the experience of a spirituality that is vibrant, inclusive and progressive. We are called to generously share our time, talents and resources. We are called to be beacons of faith, freedom and justice here and around the world.

The foundation of Open Arms MCC is our four Pillars: Spirituality, Community, Social Justice and Stewardship.

  • Spirituality: The Spirituality Pillar is comprised of two teams.

    • Pastoral Care Team:  Been Sick?  Missed a few weeks? You might get a card or a phone call from a member of this team.

    • Prayer Team: Need a prayer? Members of our this team are always on hand to help.

  • Community: The Community Pillar is about being part of something bigger than one. Community is about sharing and being open to allow diversity in. Community is about tearing down walls and building up relationships. This team is about fun and fellowship, classes and movies, potlucks and game nights.

  • Social Justice: The Social Justice Pillar's mission is to create communities of love, justice, and equality in which every human being is treated with respect and dignity.  Being a part of this work means stepping out of our comfort zone and doing what Christ has called us to do. We are always on the lookout for new ways to promote human rights and dignity.

  • Stewardship: The Stewardship Pillar is the careful and responsible management of resources entrusted to our care.  The Stewardship committee is about more than money!  It is sharing our time, talents, and treasures.
